Injection Fault after changing 2 glow plugs and Fuel filter

Postby danielhurrell » Tue Jun 04, 2013 11:40 am

Hi All

My car is a 2005 1.9 DCI with 87k on.
Last night i changed glow plug 2 + 3 due to "check injection" message. I also changed the fuel filter.
All ran fine at idle and the check injection message has gone. Then after 2 mins driving the message "injection fault" came up along with the word stop. Engine feels like it only has 50% and wont rev past 3k. Once it was warm it seemed to be ok.
This morning all started fine and ran for 10 mins until i accelerated on slip road when error came on again. So pulled over restarted engine and went away. Then 50 miles later when I was back in town it came on again.
It seems as if a sensor / something is loose as it comes on mostly when slowing down or sometimes speeding up.
I know there are other topics regarding this but none seem to be after someone has replaced glow plugs and Filter.
Any help would be much appriciated.

Many thanks

Please read the manual in the sticky thread for what causes these lights - there is a long list. You need to use an OBD reader or Clip to get more detail. I guess the problem is with the filter. It is either air getting into it, which is easy to fix, or the system was contaminated, which is costly.
