Renault Megane 2005 1.4 STARTS THEN CUTS OF

My 2005 1.4 Renault Megane starts and then cuts of unless you hold down the accelerator, The mechanic says its the throttle body but says he can replace it but hasn't got the equipment to programme it. ( video below)
Is it true that the throttle body requires programming?

Cleaning the throttle body is definitely the way to proceed. It is the number one problem on the 1.4 engines.

I doubt any sensor is to blame as the car does start, it immediately stalls - the starter would crank for ages if not.

Your first post, by the way, is the best possible way to describe the problem!
