Blower only works on setting 4?

Postby huwmk2 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 5:38 pm

Hi all,

The blower on the heater only works on setting 4. I am not sure if its the heater resistor or the blower resistor that needs changing? I found the heater resistor in the passanger footwell and gave the connectors a clean, however there was no change. I have replaced the cabin filter and hoovered inside to clear any clogging. This leads me to believe its the fan resistor that needs replacing. Is this located behind the dash? If so, how easy a job is it? Thanks, Huw.

Look here: https://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum ... =2&t=19424

Put this (without quotation marks) into google.co.uk 'blower resistor site: meganeownersclub.co.uk'

That should give you some pointers!

Is this the one I need? I located this today and cleaned the terminals but nothing changed, still only blows on setting 4.

I have no clue if this part is suitable since I have no idea what year/marque/chassis code you have (this gives me an idea).

Read the manuals, and look at your chassis code (it should be on a plate inside a front door). Common codes are BM0G, CM0G, etc. Obviously, the year of manufacture plays an important part.
