Stalling problem

Looking for help with a problem on my 54 plate Megane 1.4.
When I start up first thing in the morning no problem, things start to go wrong if I stop for petrol or anything and turn the engine off for a couple of minutes, when restarted the engine will not tick over, it continually stalls at every junction or traffic lights. After a short run to work down the motorway everything reverts back to normal till I stop/restart the engine.
Had it to my local garage for a service and they acknowledge a problem but the fault reader does not return a fault code. Anyone else had or having a similar fault. Any help would be appreciated.

no, nothing shows on the dash until after engine cuts out. Ive had the coil problems before and management light did come on and engine ran poorly, now it runs smooth when on the move problem is when I stop and restart.

I'm tempted to suggest that catch all phrase - 'clean the throttle body'. So far as I've read, it is the number 1 problem with poorly idling 1.4 engines. I'm sure there is a guide here somewhere.
