hi a newbie here just bought a 2003 16 privilege (just coming to terms with things going wrong after owning a 18 year old twin turbo subaru legacy which every thing still worked and never broke down) :conf i am having problems with the exhaust being noisy, the exhaust is not leaking and is gas tight i suspect the baffles and what would be the the best replacement and would the renault mountings fit a after market exhaust or would you need to get a fitting kit,one last thing are the original exhaust made of stainless steel, great site by the way

So far as I know, the only way of removing a section of the exhaust is to cut it in a specific place, since it is routed around axles and other major hardware. It is made of stainless (though I don't know of what gauge - 304/316?). This gives rise to two problems: cutting stainless steel and the heat shield. It is not a job I fancy.

Unless you get better advice, it's probably best to ask around your local exhaust type places and get some quotes - if the problem annoys you to that extent.

thanks for that,i will be changing the exhaust myself as i have made a few exhausts for trucks and coaches its mainly the back box that makes the noise and its hard to weld stainless steel to mild steel i want to know if a after market/pattern rear box would fit, thanks again
