Alarm sensor broke off

Postby Tim2cv » Mon May 21, 2012 8:28 pm

Had an alarm sensor fail

Loading the car for the tip I removed the rear shelf and caught the sensor. Now the wires have pulled out.

Anyone know anything about them? Can I get new, stick wires back in and repair or have I stuffed it?!

Looks to me like the wires will go back in, never done it though so see if anyone with experience chimes in

To be honest, it looks like you will have to prise the workings out of the plastic, then solder the wires back on. Tricky unless you have a steady hand.

The other option is to remove trim panels until you can find a connector, then source the component either from the dealer or a scrapyard.

Personally, I like to repair rather than replace - so, dust off your trusty 20W iron and get busy!

I did the same thing when removing the parcel shelf and feeding it through onto the back seats...

Another thing on the 'to fix' list
