Need help...!
Last week I had a (new) problem with my Megane. The mechanists said that I have a bad clock spring. As I've checked the posts in the site, I see that it's sure now that I have to change it. The guy at the garage told me that a new one costs 250 euro and that it's not possible to install a used one for two reasons. First of all because it's difficult to find a compatible one and secondly because even if I find one, it's not gonna work for a long time because it's soon going to have compatibility problems with the car's computer. He was positive that I can only install a brand new clock spring. So, does anybody knows from his/hers experience if I can install a used one and what's the cost maybe...? Can I fix the one I have? Thanks in advance !!!
(It's a Megane II, 1,4, gas, 2004)

I bought one off e-bay,it was new but old stock in very tatty box,guy didn't know which model it fitted. When i got it it was ok but didn't have the auto light switch stalk.Looked at them when i removed my broken one and noticed the switches were screwed on so thought nothing to loose and removed light switches and swapped them over, fitted to car and all working perfect. So even if you get wrong one you can swap switches over no problem.

So, you think that I can buy any clock spring for Megane II ? And my problem is not about switches but if the new clock spring is gonna be functional to the airbag system.

Airbag connections are all the same, but you may get one with extra plugs i think which are for ones with cruise control. If you dont have it then just leave extra plugs not connected but tape them up .the one i got had them and everything works ok on my car, hope that helps you .
