Rear seat bases

Not a problem as such, more of a question.

Can the rear seat bases be removed easily enough?

There is a piece of plastic around each hinge that almost looks like the correct twiddle and they will remove?

Am i correct or are tools required?

Its a 3 door hatch back and I want to do this to allow the seats to go flat without losing leg room in the front.

Plus they are leather, so don't want to ruin them.

Cheers in advance

No tools, just hinge up from the back and give them a tug.
:-)
