Is there away to check the timing belt without a major stripped down of a 1.5dci K9k 732 engine?
I have been told that it was changed at 120,000k but I am not too sure as it looks rather dirty around the area and the car has only done 126,000 k.

Re: Timing Belt
take off top bolt on the cover and pri back and look at the belt for wear cracks anything amiss etc, then run car and watch it in motion
Re: Timing Belt
Sound advice - cracks, splits, worn teeth are harbingers of imminent failure. You really don't want this part to fail. It could cost you more to repair than the car is worth. Around here, less than £200 is required to have the job done - and while you're at it, replace the water pump and tensioner.
I don't accurately recall the service intervals, but from memory it is 72k miles or 5 years. It is recommended to half this figure, particularly for short journeys. Consult the manual for metric numbers!

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
