took my car to parks renault today as worried about smell of diesel in car. turns out its the fuel injector seal and they want £500 to repair......WTF!!!!
tried a local garage but thy were unable to accept the job as they say specialist tools are needed. is this the case and does it mean i have no option but to take it to renault to fix???
anyone else had this? or can advise...£500 is just too much for what needs done

i had that problem and i only paid £45 from my local diesel garage, i think its only a copper seal, im sure the mechanic said the injectors jump off sometimes and become unseated...

I had a similar problem, strong smell of diesel in the car. Turned out to be an o ring seal. Hour later, new o ring and the job was all done.
