Electric Window Motor

Hi all

I've had both the front window motors replaced in the past on my Megane 2, 54 plate under warranty (still at a cost but reduced), and now 2 1/2 years later, the drivers window is knackered again, stuck half way down (and so getting wet!). The new parts were fitted by an approved Renault dealer. The same Renault dealer tells me that if I need a new one it will be anything up to £500 to replace as the parts are only covered under a 12 month warranty. Does anyone know if this is right? It seems a little odd to me that a known fault should have such a short warranty on it? Or can anyone suggest how to reduce the cost of this. I live on the South Coast near Bournemouth if anyone knows of a good place to go.
Thanks
JB

window regulator seem to fail because of water ingress problems

try take the door card off, unplug the connector from the bottom of the window motor see if theres a green or blue thing popping uop if sdo push it back dopwn its a trip switch.

or it could be the control box has a dry joint on pcb which can be resoldered

the motors do fail but best checking the cheapest options first
