Keyfob issue (or bigger problem) ?

Hi folks,

My keycard stopped working (remote locking stopped and "insert card" started appearing on dash) so I bought a new CR2025 battery and all seemed fine again. Three days later I go out to the car and the issue has repeated itself, but fortunately I had bought a pack of three batteries so I replaced it again and all worked perfectly once more.

I go out to the car this morning and all is dead yet again, I change the battery and all is working fine. Clearly there is an issue as Ive gone through 3 lithium batteries in a week. I'm currently using the emergency key access via the passenger door, and having to slide the keycard into the slot to start the car.

Any thoughts on the problem ?

I do have a spare key, however, I smashed it by mistake inside a sports bag and its currently in a thousand pieces needing replaced. So I am beginning to panick that I may be keyless soon.

Appreciate any advice / suggestions.

Could you have bought a dodgy pack of batteries? May be worth trying a different make (Duracell are very good) from a different source.
