HELP! Handbrake Release Button Stuck

I was driving this morning, stuck in traffic was applying and releasing the handbrake, then suddenly the button felt odd so I pulled it ever so lightly and it ended up in my hand.

Examined to see and broken bits but there was none, pushed it back in and now its stuck in! I have to park the car in gear.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Same happend to few days ago, there is a fix on here am sure if you are good with your hands.

Or do what am doing.... Look for a 2nd hand one as new one is tad expensive
