Auto Wiper Fault : Cold day or problem?

Hello,

Got a 2005 1,5 dci privilige megane.

Today has been a cold morning, and the windscreen had ice on it. So when I put into auto wipers I get the service light, and the wipers are going without stop, eventhough there is no rain or snow.
Is this just cause of the cold, or will this problem persist. It never happened before.

ps. Also slight annoyance. When I move the drivers seat rest back or front, my service light for airbag goes on, but when I wiggle it a bit more, it goes off and stays off till I move it again. I have been looking for the cable, but have not found the proper one yet, as it might be loose or something? Any ideas. It happens only on the drivers side.

Best regards

Extreme cold does cause problems so hopefully the auto wipers issue will stop when the temperature warms up.

Re: The seat issue definitely sounds like the under seat connector issue, you need to push any and all connectors that you find together firmly.

check the wires under the seat. those wires can come loose and the airbag plus the service light come on. there are some references on this forum with pictures

cheers

The wiper issue is resolved by the sun shining on it and heating it up. How lame though, it was only -4 today. This should not be happening.

And as for the connector for airbag, I tried readjusting every connector i found. But still when I move my seat front or back, it will pop up, but then after another adjust (i got the hang of it) It goes off and never turns on again, until I move my seat again. So its really minor annoyance if anything. Thanks for the tips though.

Ref air bag connector under seat, we used to have to permanently solder some as the wiring was too short and the connector was pulled loose with every adjustment. You may have to try that for a permanent fix.
