steering lock not working

when i stop the engine the steering lock clicks but does not engage at all, when the problem first occured it worked every now and then
now nothing and just a message on the screen saying "steering lock problem"

any one be able to shed any light?

i have the same problem. if you find out what it is and how to rectify it please let me know cos i have no idea what it could be.

check the locking mechanism...it has a screw that sometimes can became loose, the screw is really visible under the unit. you have to take the cover under the steering wheel until you see it. post back further.

Bear in mind that the screw securing the steering lock mechanism is left handed and also probably a snap-off head design. In other words, proceed with caution!
