'Electronic Fault'

I was doing 70 down the dual carriageway on the way home from 6th form the other day and the message 'Electronic Fault' flashed up on my computer! Everything works perfectly apart from I was told my brake light was out so I changed the bulb but the message was still displayed. Today I realised however, that when I put the card in the slot and pressed the 'start' button in an attempt to switch the power on inside the car, the car started without me pressing the brake pedal!

Could this be linked to the electronic fault and how easy would it be to fix as the warning message is f*#king annoying!
