Megane Starting Issue

Hi Guys,
im new to this website so i could do with a bit of help, ive got a megane 1.6 vvt sport on a 03 reg and its had starting issues since ive had it. it used to take 3-7 times to start in the morning and everytime i stopped it was the same, so i got advised to have the VVT pully changed so i did at the expense of £350 which isnt too bad i thought. the car is running loads better now and starts first time throughout the day, but in the mornings it still takes 3 or 4 attemps to start it and its really starting to bug me.
could you please try and give me some idea of what it is ?

does the car crank over or does the dash just beep at you a few times and engine does nothing

hi mate no it starts, goes to like 1000 revs then just cuts straight out cheers rich

you may be cheaper getting this plugged in as this could be caused by a number of problems,
maf sensor, out of range throttle pedal. throttle postion sensor.
as it seems to run ok in the end i think it may be one of the above beginning to fail and being cold will make it worse.
sorry can't be of more help, you really need to get the fault codes read

when the car finally starts, how's the RPM ? Higher than normal or the value is the same as the engine is already warm? does that happen with the engine warm (after 15-20 min of the engine running)? After a successful start if you dont let the engine get warm and turn off the car, does it start right away?

hi guys ive had the car plugged in and it revealed no problems and when i first start the car it will turn over as if its gonna start goes to about 2000 revs then the needle just drops to nothing but if i start it and rev it for about 30 seconds its fine. the car runs normally and will start first time throughout the day except when its been sitting on the carpark at work from like 7.30 til 5. and also ive noticed when its tickin over it a bit lumpy as if its not running right.

any ideas im puzzled

do you have the scan tool to connect to the car? check the temperature sensor read out on the scan tool.
