1,9 DCI Clutch

Postby ajojets » Fri Jul 29, 2011 8:30 pm

The clutch on my 1.9 DCI is slipping, how much of a job is it to change the plate and cover, do I need any special tools other than an alignment tool. :-(
Andy.

the alignment tools and a slippery clutch doesnt have any connection at the first sight. why do you say you could need the alignment tool?

Hi, Because when you take the clutch cover plate off to get at the clutch friction plate , when you put a new cover plate and friction plate in they have to be aligned to the flywheel centre , an alignment tool is used for this, I was asking if any other tools are needed and how much of a job it would be to do at home.
thanks.

A big job - axles and transmission out of the car. Not easy without a transmission jack. Plus you have to raise the car very high.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
