Think I posted this in the wrong forum - thanks anyway Anthony
New to the site so apologies if I've missed this topic elswhere....
The 5 speed gearbox (70k and never abused from new !) is whinning and clunking so presuming another gearbox is required,
is the change something that can be done on the drive. Ex mechanic with full range of tools (bit rusty though)
Local Garage unable to do as they say you needa two post lift, but others say can be done by dropping the subframe on a jack
Any advice welcome

Re: 2007 Sports Tourer gearbox change
Yes, it can be done dropping the lower frame but you will always need to rise the car for at least the gearbox high, thats why something similiar to a two posts lift should do the trick, ie lift the car on bot sides for at least the gear box high and then placing a jack under the frame before release it from the supports. if you do things like this i think you should do the trick at "home"
good luck

good luck
