Hi,

On my Spanish Megan 1.5dci, every time I start the engine after 5 seconds there is a tapping noise thet lasts 15 seconds that seems to originate from behind the glove box. Sometimes the same noise happens when the engine is switched off. Has anyone any ideas as to what is causing this noise?

Check the oil!

The noise can be coming from the vacuum pump, which is on that side.

mine does this. on mine its a noisy air vent recirc flap.
try setting the air vents to recirc and see if it does it on demand?

I was going to say it was the tappets but you say it also makes the noise with the engine off?
