hi all
the car;
megane dci 1.9
2003
125,000 miles
owned for 2yrs
50,000 miles in my ownership
the problem;
my megane usually starts within a second or two of pressing the start button regardless of weather etc.
i recently noticed that it is taking 3-4 seconds now. no smoke and everything else is well.
what i have done;
i have pumped the fuel hand pump thing to enusre there is enough pressure, no bubbles in fuel line it seemed fine to me.
last service 8000miles ago (by me), always changed oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, cleaned egr, oil return pipes.
what i think it is;
i think it is the glow plugs at least one of them failing, is there a way i can find out which one ie find the one that has failed and disconnect and car should start the same as if connected??? or should i just dig deep and replace all?
i did a search for glow plugs and was surprised with the result of only 1 posting!!!
let me know what you think,
thanks in advance

Re: glow plugs???
I will celebrate my 2000th post by telling you to pull of the cap of each glowplug in turn, then use a multimeter to measure the resistance. It should be 0.6 ohm from tip to earth. If it's exactly 0 or infinite, the thing's knackered. They cost £10 each.
