Got into the car this morning and the drivers side window wont go down?
My car is a Renault Megane Dynamique 1.6. It is a 2007 and only has 14,000 miles on it. Surely something couldnt be wrong with it so soon?
The back 2 windows work no problem. The drivers side window will go up and down but I need to keep pressing on the button. It seems to move a bit at a time. It does not move up or down in one go? The passenger side window doesnt move at all and I cant even hear a noise coming from it as if it is trying to move.
I have done some research on this site and some people have mentioned resetting? Resetting what? Could someone please tell me what I should try?
Please help

The passenger side regulator is bust. £70 from a scrap yard.
The other window needs resetting, and this is in the tips and tricks post. I'm tired of answering the same questions. DO A SEARCH

You say there was no noise coming from the window motor? I think the last reply to your post was a bit hasty. The passenger window stopped working on my 2007 Megane. When I removed all the door trim panel to investigate the problem, the window suddenly began working again! I think a lot of Megane electrical issues originate from connector problems, in this case the multipin one going to the regulator motor. Since I disturbed it, no more probs. Worth a look to save you money before you jump to conclusions. . . . . .

Cheers mate. Is it a hard job removing the door panel? I have had a look at both the front doors and to me it looks like they may have been removed before.
When I am in there what is worth insulating to keep the water off it?

Update
Phoned Renault UK and got the car booked in with the local Renault Dealer. They removed the door card and says it needs a new regualtor. The cost to me will be £92. Dont know when this will be fixed either as they say the are trying to source a new provider for parts. The parts originally came from Japan and a Renault Manager has told me that factory was flattened in the recent tsunami.
So at present I am left with a broken window until the unforeseeable future and still have to pay 25% of the cost!
Does anyone know when they actually repair this do they put some sort of sealant in place so water cant get into the door again?
