Dipped lights not bright enough

Yeah that's where I put mine, the cable length was just ok

All done and working.


Both sides didn't work initially, so I swapped round the cables with the flat blades and all was well.

Although the instructions said to connect red to red and black to black, both the cables on the plug were black and no markings to indicate + or -.

Thanks for letting me pick your brains..............

It took me longer than it should have as I was being extra cautious. I didn't want to break anything as I have a reputation for snapping bolts and breaking things as I am heavy handed.

Did you find you had to lower your beam using the load adjusters because they were so bright?

Apparently if you fit these that should be considered.

Nope, still on the highest level, never been flashed or anything... You can see the level on other cars and it rarely goes to other cars window levels if you know what I mean..

I think megane headlights are aiming lower than other makes for some reason.

Just had a sit in the car and tested the lights.

Lovely and bright now, that's how headlights should be as standard!

I did notice that when they first come on, they dim a bit after a couple of seconds, but are still very bright.
I assume this is normal?

I must get some spare bulbs now as I like to carry them just in case. I am aware that these bulbs tend to last longer than normal bulbs.

I go to Europe in July and I don't want to be reverting back to bog standard bulbs should one of these fail prematurely.

Yeah that's normal, really bright then dim right down n brighten again slightly as they warm up...

Used the car this morning and as the windscreen was a bit grubby I selected was and wipe and found that my windscreen washers now have very weak jets.

I must have squashed the tube from the water bottle so will possibly have to strip the front off again.

Another thing...... When I was reassembling the car, I found a plastic ribbed hose dangling. It seems to come out of the top / side of the battery so I am guessing it is just to release gas or perhaps any overflow. I didn't notice if the battery was a sealed unit as most are these days. I have just left it dangling as I have no idea if it should actually connect to anything. I ordered spare bulbs yesterday afternoon and they arrived today. I was hoping they would be like normal bulbs and just a matter of popping them in when needed, but no such luck, they come with cables attached, so it will probably mean taking the front off again to change a bulb.

That's not good, yeah think mine had a type of drain pipe.. And to be fair I can't fit the normal bulbs without taking the bumper off anyway.. Good luck sorting it out, shame that's somethings gone wrong for you, so annoying after thinking a jobs done and overwith!!

I can change normal bulbs with a lot of swearing and grazed, bruised wrists. I always wonder if anyone who sees the marks assume I have tried to slash my wrists, as they get quite badly marked.

I have to take the passenger wheel off when doing it.

Renault must have designed it with a view to drumming up more work and profits from their customers.

I will never buy Renault again, just because of the replacing bulbs fiasco.

I have seen that.

I am hoping I can just remove the bottom bolts and the ones on the drivers side wheel arch and get my arm up and find the tube to free it.
