Won't Start

Postby davidloveshismeg » Wed Mar 23, 2011 1:03 pm

Hey All,

Jumped into the meg this morning to head to work, and she didnt start! The car does not even attempt to turn over.

First thing I thought was the battery, but im pretty sure thats not the problem as when I put the key in, press start, the ignition makes the usual click and the dash lights come on. The radio comes on too and all the electric windows are working as normal (not sluggish at all).

Has anyone any idea of what may be wrong?

Cheers
Dave

Have you tried pressing brake pedal to start Dave. I had a wire come off the switch when I used to press the clutch it wouldnt start but when i pressed the brake it started.

Hey,

Yea I have tried both clutch and brake pedals to no avail! Hoping it is not an ignition/electrical issue :?

Hi, you have probably thought of this, but are you attempting to start with car in gear ?

Hmmm, running out of ideas, have you tried "rocking" the car in gear in case starter motor not engaged (or seized).
