Tries to stall on first rev in the morning

Hi all

I've a 55 plate 1.6 vvt petrol which runs fine normally however one thing does get on my wick. On starting in the morning the car needs to idle for a minute or so before I can give it some gas. If I start it and give it gas straight away the revs drop right off and the car tries to stall. Further revs at just before the stall recovers the car but it's kind of annoying me.

I've only had the car a few months and although the service has been reset I'm wondering if it's actually been done and the fault could relate to old filters or something.

Thanks for any advice.

Does it sound rough when cold (like a diesel)?

If not, the throttle body might need cleaning. So far as I'm aware, this issue only affects the 1.4 petrol (but I may well be wrong).
