Hi All

done a search but cant find anything

have a 53/04 megane 1.5vvt 5door

the the car thinks the front passenger door is always open, this is causing problems with lights not going off and not being able to lock the car.

anybody know where the sensor is, also is there anyway to bypass it. i presume its in the locking mech as i cant see any sensors on the door shuts.

The sensor is inside the locking mechanism. You can test the system. Here is a picture (not a actual megane but it can be used for this test):

Where the screw driver is fitted you will find a movable lever, lets call it like that. That lever must be pushed against the door until it locks. Be carefull, dont actually close the door without first pulling the door handle like in the photo until that lever releases to its the initial position.

When you push that lever against the door and it locks the signal inside the car should be disabled, in other words, you "have" all doors secured closed. If that doesnt happen then you have some fault inside that lock. The lock can be accessed dissembling the door cover.

anybody have access to Renault parts, i need a part number for the front passenger door locking mechanism for a 4/5 door Megane 2 1.6 vvt

also dephaser is gone, timing belt needs doing to, will this kit cover everything

expensive month after all the stick i have my mum for not selling her clio after all her problems i fallen into the trap, never again will i buy a Renault

the problem on the door is inside the lock?
