Megane II wont unlock or start

Hey,

I have a 2004 1.6 Sport Hatch, I drove home last nite, parked the garage at home, locked it by pushing the lock button twice, and this morning nothing! The car will not unlock with the remote, so i manually unlocked it with the passenger door lock. When inside the internal lights wont come on, but the radio will, so i doubt its the battery. Also the security light in the speedo is solid red instead of its normal flashing. The engine wont start, the deadlocks are stuck on, and there is no warning or greeting message flashing up. Anyone else experienced this problem or any ideas as to what it could be???

Cheers,

PS. I have replaced the key card battery and tried jump starting the car, neither worked.

I hope it is the battery as it's an easy fix. Somehow, I'm not sure. If you connected jump leads to a good engine and had the same problems, I would be concerned. Perhaps the terminals are loose? Hope I'm wrong. Have you checked the big fuses on the battery positive terminal?

Hey all,

It was a fuse on the battery that had blown!
the repair guy took off the fuse and said the car is grand to drive for the future but get a new fuse at some point.
Last nite however the passenger door didnt close properly and the internal lights were on all nite and hence had a nice flat battery this morning!
Just wondering is it safe to jump start it without the fuse or am i going to shock myself???
