Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding

Postby Husky_Dog » Thu Dec 30, 2010 10:33 am

Good morning All,

Quick question regarding Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding and / or fluid replacement - is it required on the Megane or Scenic models?

Having changed the fluid in the brake lines a couple of times now. I am wondering if the clutch needs to have the fluid replaced or bled on the same interval? The Haynes doesn't mention this specifically, and I would like to know if by changing the brake fluid I am in fact carrying out enough preventative maintenance on the hydraulic clutch system? :?:

Any tips or advice welcome as always.

Will.

No need to have a hissy fit. Bleed the brakes in the sequence shown in the Haynes manual. Use new fluid. By the time you have done the entire circuit, the little that is left in the clutch line will be diluted out in the new. Kein problem!

Some of us that post answers regularly might have had other things to do over the last few days.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!

hi again
ok ive tried gravity bleeding as sudgested remove clip from slave pipe pull pipe out till click then wait with pipe in fluid ive done this and over 1 litre has passed through doesnt seem to be any air in system then i notice a small leak coming form where the black pipe enters the slave cylinder even with both clips in and pipe appears to pushed fully home it seems to be leaking fluid would this indicate that the pipe is at fault or the slave cylinder itself after bleeding it seems to have resistance in the pedal and can select gears with a bit of force but reverse grinds like hell im at my witts end here can anyone please shed some light on this for me??

regards
