Just bought my wife her first car a renault megane convertibale 54 plate. took it to a garage to get the memory read just in case and six faults have appeared
1 Df093 oxygen sensor
2 Df093 oxygen sensor curcuit
3 Df119 camshaft sensor
4 df119 camshaft sensor phaser out of range
5 Df080 camshaft dephaser
6 Df080 camshaft dephaser circuit programming.
My question is 1) would one fault with the same code set off the other code with the same number? 2) how much do these things cost to fix? Any help would be most appreciated as only had the car a week so hoping the warrenty will cover it. Will I regret owning a megane.
Fault codes???

Re: Fault codes???
oxygen Sensor is probably the Lamda Sensor in the exhaust. not a biggy.
as for dephaser, I have heard it is one of the most expensive jobs to do on the car, and is a major issue.
Someone with more experience should be along soon to help, hopefully they will be able to advise in more detail the issues, as I am also new to the Megane having bought our CC just a few weeks ago...

Yea the Dephaser is an expensive pain in the ass.
Did you by the car privite or from a dealer. If a dealer i would be back to them and demand it 'dephaser' replaced or a refund.
If privite. Take out AA home start membership £69.99 . Then add the breakdown cover for 79.99.
This will cover you for 5 problems a year up to the value of £500 EACH with only £25 excess.
A much cheep alternative than paying directly to have the dephase done. ( you then also have it for 4 other problems)
I have used it twice and it has been flawless.
I think the above prices are correct. Check the AA website.

Re: Fault codes???
bought it from a garage and they have agreed to take it back and repair it, but when I get it back I might just take it to a main dealer and get it diagnoised just in case. Got a month warrenty so want all the problems sorted before end of the month. Did not know the AA did that cover will look into it when warrenty runs out thanks.

I would mark the dephaser to make sure it is actualy replaced. Some places are all to kean to reset the fault codes and send you on your way. Also ask them for the part number of the new dephaser. Alot of work has been done on them sence that model was released.
Especialy as they were happy to sell you the car with the problems blindly obvious.

Re: Fault codes???
car gone back into garage and they gave us a 12 month warrenty that allows us to use any renault dealership instead of driving back to them everytime.
Re: Fault codes???
i would get a second a pinion.i took my megane to renault and they diagnostix on it and they said it needs new oxygen sensor.and new camshaft sensor.i got them to reset it.they said it wood work for a while.the light will come back on so i went off.that was a year ago.my megane is runing fine i went for m.o.t and he said the diagnostix is not 100% right it was a false reading.just dont take renaults word for it just money takers the price they give me for new oxygen sensor.and new camshaft sensor was £295 pounds what a rip off i got a price for £120 all in from my local garage.that mean dealers for you
