I've got a Megane Sedan 2004 and the boot lock causes trouble.
When opened by the remote control, the boot lock won't unlock, it's just totally dead when I press the release switch on the lid.
I've had it unlocked from the inside, crc:ed the parts and it worked some time but now the problem is back. The car stands in a warm
garage so there shouldn't be serious problems with humidity or so.
Can this problem be fixed or does the lock need to be changed?

Re: Boot lock won't unlock
Chances are it'll be a broken wire in the loom between the rear cabin and the boot lid/hinge area.... fairly common complaint on the MII Sedans.
Re: Boot lock won't unlock
Thanks Mick, you were right. The wiring to the lid had to be repaired.
Serivece was due anyway so it was fixed in a workshop, but no new parts were needed.
Another symptom was that the rear cabinet lamp was out also when the lock was faulty,
and when it functioned, the lamp was on. Anyway, the boot lock is now as good as new.
