air conditioner problem megane 2007 help!

hello to all
my megane is letting me down
the air conditioner stoped working out of nothing n' it still almost a new car "only 14000 mile!!"
what happens is when i press the air conditioner button the engine goes off
if i don't use the air conditioner the engine goes ok n' the car works well
but when i switch the a/c on the engine turns off with little noise
everything works ok accept the A/C
any help please

I think you have your AC compressor wrecked...You should go to a garage and check that.

Especially as there is 8 year warranty on compressors.

Can you give more info on this? please.

I think mine is on its way out.

There is a technical note (someone should know better) on aircondition, i.e. compressor. The compressor is changed if faulty and Renault covers all the expenses. I checked mine in August, everything seemed fine. The catch is that the car must have all services done by authorised garage.

Would you have any idea where this 'note' can be found?
