new gearnob

how do i get the gear nob off on my 2004 manual megane?its well worn and i want to put a new one on.

Hi you have to pull it off. Try wiggling it from side to side whilst pulling upwards. Quite hard to get off but will do with a bit of effort. you need to unclip the gaiter from console first as it all comes off in one. Good luck Mark

cheers mark,been trying today but its aolid.unclipped gaiter and spen ages wiggling it and gave up.got new gearnob but sod it i,ll keep old one,ade.

You can cut it off, or....

...straddle the thing and tug being careful not to cause an injury to the crown jewels.

Heating with a hot air gun might help soften the adhesive. Then again it might melt - just mind your b*****ks!
