Glove box won't open

I have a 54 plate Megane CC and I can't get the glove box to open. At first I thought it was a problem with the deadlocking, but now I'm not so sure.

Anyone have similar problems?

You need to hit unlock twice to unlock the glove compartment. Something specific to the CC I think.

Oh and it needs to be done before you start your engine.

Yeh I thought that initially, but it remained stuck.

However, it opened today with some pursuation, and a metal rod maybe 3mm in diameter and about 80mm long fell out. I assume this is a slip bolt of some kind that operates on the dead locking.

So bascially it opens now no problem, but won't ever lock again, Hey ho.

I would just replace the solenoid.

They are freely available on the bay.

There is a good guide on here of how to split the casing.

I've recently bought a 2007 Megane CC, the windows don't work, the CV joints click like mad, and now the glove box wouldn't open! Thank you manoman I pressed the unlock button twice and it opened! One less problem to address.
