Handbrake adjustment

Postby Meggyman » Sat Jul 31, 2010 3:37 pm

Fitted a new Rear Caliper to our Clio III which is exactly the same as our Meganes.
All ok and bled ok too, but the handbrake on the new caliper is not holding as much as the other side.
Is there individual adjustment for each cable?

Odd. The 2002 - 2005 have a balancing bar in the handbrake internally - if yours is similar you can remove a small piece of trim and inspect the bar for left/right bias (obviously it should be equal). Because you have replaced the calliper, you may not have the same cable length where it attaches. I suggest you look at that end of things to rectify it.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
