odb scanner what software

I have an odb scanner which I purchased for a leon cupra a few years ago. From the look if it its the same one as required for the megane.
I only have the vagcom software for it so that wont be any good.

Can some recommend software to use on the megane, pref free and maybe a link.

I use ScanMaster. It reads the codes and also can record the engine parameters while driving, so they can be plotted later as diagrams. An early version of this tool is free, but I've lost a link to it. The interface I use is ELM327 and the tool runs on XP.

Do you think the odb usb tool I have will be elm 327 based. I cant find the info on it, but I used to use it on a 2001 Leon cupra and a 2002 golf.

I don't know, It may be compatible with ScanMaster. The car interfaces are more or less standard. The differences can be in the adapter-to-PC interface.
