Silly question this but is there any way I can tell whether my 1.5dci Megane (2006 Tourer) is the 106bhp version? Bought second hand and described as 106bhp, just want to double check.

It might say it on a sticker on the drivers side door pillar. Otherwise you can sign up to 'My Renault' on their site, put your details in, and it will give you the information you need.

How many gears do you have? I might be wrong, but if it's 5 then it's an 86, with the 106 using a a 6-speed gearbox.

Yea this revails all. Or just put your reg into any insurance comparison website.

It is a 6 speed, not sure it that is conclusive? Checked the drivers side pillar and there is just a whole bunch of numbers that don't make much sense.

The car is a UK car that has been re-registered in Ireland, so none of the suggestions re entering VIN or REG details work unfortunately.

I will call Renault Ireland with the VIN and see can they confirm.

I wreckon if i put my boot down in a car i could tell if its 106 or 86 BHP...

If its 106BHP it will be slow.. If its 86 BHP it will be even slower.

Simples!

If its 6 speed its the 106 BHP.

Also every megane ever made cleary displayed the BHP on the door sticker.. XXX BHP clearly readable.
