Window regulators Extended Warranty 7 Years

Postby richie46 » Thu May 20, 2010 9:30 am

I just had my passengers side window regulator replaced as usual came back and found the window down, had the same issues with the drivers door last year and got that one repaired for free. But my car has just gone over the original 4 year warranty. I spoke with renault uk customer service and they have extended the warranty on the megane for 7 years. I managed to get 75% of the repair so only cost £90.
Will be talking with customer service more often they were very helpful. :-)

hi, i have just bought a megane 1.9dci, i have just found that the window regulator/motor on my passengers side window is knackered, infact the regulator and the electrical plug had burnt, is there any chance i could get it done on warranty? the car is a 2004, thanks

So that would make a regulator and motor cost £360 fitted by renault?????

I can buy a working motor and regulator from the local scrap for £50 - £60. It takes about half a hour to strip the door and fit the gubbans. Maybe another 20 mins to put it back together.

So 7 year warrenty (although i doubt it) or not, still a rather expensive option.

A new regulator at the nearest dealer to my work came to £210 (not my car, my bosses before they traded in)

Aye but thats brand new.

No need for a brand new one if 2nd hand will.

Try and get the motor from the rear door as these are generaly used much less.

Just had my window regulator changed (Megane 1.9 Dci 2004) under the extended warranty. Cost to me £80.00. Now I would call that a deal! Brand new regulator--not some secondhand part that could be difficult to find and could be coming to the end of its useful life. AND bear in mind that changing a regulator on a megane is a real pig of a job!
