non starting 1.5dci

Postby honestmac » Mon Apr 19, 2010 4:10 pm

Hope someone can help, after replacing a blown head gasket on a 1.5dci the car will not start all, timing is 100%, before head was removed the car started easily. I have a error code of DF053( rail pressure regulation function) have checked pressure on rail and it runs on 1650bar, way to much, it seems that the injectors are not pulsing. If i spray easy start into intake the car runs. Can anyone help with why the pressure runs so high or has a solution.

When you removed the head, did you replace the injector pipework and ensure it was free from dirt ingress. I have no knowledge of the 1.5 engine, but it sounds a bit like a blockage to the high pressure rail return. The high pressure pump may be goosed as a result. Just thinking worst case...

Hi There have a look at this post it might help you with your problem. it's none start problem on a 1.9dci but it does refer to the code DF025 that you are getting.

Thanks for replies but still not starting, all fuel lines are clean, I dont have power to injectors there seems to be no pulse supply. does anyone know how the pulse is generated? I know it should come from the ecu but does the ecu need a signal to start generating pulse. i.e from crank sensor or some other sensor.
