Question RE Acceleration

My car seems to be making a wheezing noise when I take my foot off the accelerator when going over 30mph. This isn't when I'm clutching too, just going over a certain speed and taking the pressure off the accelerator. It only lasts a second and only happens when I release the pressure. there is no noise when I rev the car stationary. Also no black smoke or anything when driving.
I have a megane scenic 1.9 dci 03 plate. it has done 86k miles.
Could this be the timing belt?
Not wanting to put this into arnold clark renault as their prices are shocking.

No. Check the air hoses for splits or looseness and anything around the turbo. It sounds normal to be honest!

Megane scenic 1.9 dci 03 plate does have a turbo, and you should find it at the rear if the engine up against the bulkhead.

Martin,
Can it be a usual gearbox whine? Check oil in it, it's time to change it anyway.

I took it to a mechanic on friday who said it wasnt the gearbox.
I'll get it booked in for a service for the oil change.
