Drivers rear window stuck open

Postby joe.skids » Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:53 pm

Hi

I have a 53 plate 1.9 dci and the drivers rear window opened itself and has stuck open. I got out and locked the car and the window opened itself. now it is stuck open. I removed the fuse for the rear windows and then deadlocked the car but nothing. I have stripped the door down and checked the voltage on the motor connection and it seems fine.

Is this a faulty motor???? Any idea's how much they are to replace.

Many thanks
Joe

If the window won't go up 2" at a time when you deadlock (i.e. remove fuse, replace fuse then double press the door lock button on the key fob), then it's the motor you will need to replace. If it goes up a bit at a time, then it's the regulator on its own you need to replace, about £50 on ebay. The regulator comes as power switch and 2 runners with all wires to make window go up and down, a pain to fit, but "bite the bullet" and undo all screws remembering where they go!

Near side just been stuck down for an hour, drove home with the "hovercraft"sound effects!!!
Came online for help, whilst sitting here heard my interior buzzers going off (windy here!),
and pressed deadlock on fob twice and up the window went, pretty relieved, tho I know it's a temp stay of execution with the reg.
A Year earlier had the front drivers reg done ,after complaining to Renault UK after Stealer wanted £350+ ,got it for free.

Sadly my dephasher is playing up ,a beautiful car ,but what a cash cow.
