Snapped Spring

Has anyone had one of their front suspension springs snap on them ? Was leaving works car park last evening tarvelling over speed bumps at slow speed when there was a lound bang - suspected what was wrong but no evidence on inspection.

Drove home at 25 mph on B roads. Have inspected this am in daylight - a 6 inch top section of the nearside spring has snapped off and was lying in undertray.

As many of you with young families are aware - we older folk do drive a lot slower - so I'm disappointed that this happened - but not surprised as this is a renault.

Its a 2003 - petrol - 64 k miles - and will be sold next few weeks fsh etc etc.

i had this a few weeks ago, i wasnt even driving it when it went, the entire street heard it go. local garage has had lots of cars in lately with springs (all makes). make sure the garage inspects both sides of the car and get them to check the mounts aswell as these can buckle
