had my 07 1.4 megane for 1 month, now its smooth as you like in all gears under 2000 revs.........when accelerating 3-4ooo revs and changing gear it souns when i dip the clutch that the tappets are tickin over......when accelaring 60-70 mph and take your foot off the accelerator its sounds a little tappety....not loud and if i break you can hear the tappin noise slowin with the engine.....when i say tappin its not a knockin noise or anything of the sort it sounds like escort engine when the tappets usen to rattle a bit.....this may be normal for the engine just never heard it in car before as ive always had diesals....the cars only done 7000 miles.....is this normal for the engine or should i take it back in to be looked at before the 3 month warrany is up?

Interesting question. Wouldn't do any harm to get an opinion under warranty.

With this low mileage the car should have had 3 oil changes by now...

This is a good point. Oil should really be changed at least once a year irrespective of mileage.

Have you checked the oil level and consistency? Is the oil getting to the top of the engine (hydraulic tappets)? Have you measured the oil pressure? Just guessing with these questions really...
