I refuse to move....
right guys my car has been a stubborn little winch lately!
for some reason ( a reson which is now very frustrating) stalls on start up?
it will take approx 4 attempts in order to start (after the revs dipping too low and causing her to stall)
then she struggles to hold the revs
i have changed the coil pack so its defo not that
iv looked on this forum for possible reasons but meh! im so annoyed with it im thinking about pushing her off swansea pier ?
i dig my megane!!!!!
Help please

Mez - you need to post some basic details - reg - petrol/diesel etc
- if its an early petrol - you may search on depahser in the search tool above.

Re: I refuse to move....
More details than that! Service history, past problems, state of the battery, any smoke, state of the plugs, etc..
Not the dephaser (it doesn't have one).

Clean the throttle body.
I am assuming that there are no warning lights, under load it runs well and all four cylinders are firing.

Re: I refuse to move....
I have a 1.6 vvt so mine does have the dephaser, which has been changed along with all the usual stuff.
Mine does exactly the same thing, I find if you immediately rev it to 3000 it then holds the revs ok. its almost like theres not enough petrol getting through on start up. It probably is the throttle body, anybody know how much that is to get cleaned?

Re: I refuse to move....
i have a similar problem with my 03 reg 1.4 most of the time when i start it up and give it some revs the car just stalls, if i do not rev it, it idles at 500 revs and after approx 20 secs it idles at 800 and is fine after that. It often goes into limp mode when driving it and the tiniest touch of the accelerator gives a massive rev and it wont rev past 3500 revs and the check ignition mdssage is displayed

Re: I refuse to move....
Mine does this from time to time....and being the simple thinking Irish man i just ignorantly bury my foot to the throttle petal and she runs sweet as a nut!

I have never been able to fix it with endless parts being replaced....done almost everything but clean/replace the throttle body.

Re: I refuse to move....
Unsure to be honest, i'm sure its been covered a few times on here as its a common issue on most meganes. Involves to much screwing for my liking!
