Re: is a renault service worth it and how much
Renault are currently doing an offer on servicing cars that are over 4 years old? https://www.renault.co.uk/ownerservices/ ... rviceOffer
Personally I would find a garage (Renault or independent) that offers the service I want at a price I can afford.

Re: is a renault service worth it and how much
all their doing for that price is changing oil / filter and the rest is just checking everything, which if they find anything will be extra.
you can turn the service light off yourself, get to the message "oil change in xxx miles" and press in the reset on the speedo surround, unless there are other warning lights on as well.
72,000 miles is a major expensive service you need to check whether the car has already had the main jobs carried out that are normally done at this interval (Cambelt (advisable to get dephaser and water pump as well) , brake fluid change, coolant change)

my 72k service is cheaper at renault than an approved independant.

I found that too. £500 or thereabouts. Supplying my own oil was a £60 discount.

I'm not especially competent but I managed to change the fuel filter, oil, oil filter, air filter and pollen filter. You just need a 10mm socket 1/2" drive, 8mm square drain plug for the oil and a pair of £20 axle stands. A torx T27 comes in handy for the oil filter assembly depending on engine.
A 10mm spanner and one man brake bleeding kit should suffice for the fluid change.
Obviously you will need to buy the oil, fluid and filters (opieoils.co.uk).
The cam belt and water pump are probably best left to the dealer. When they change the water pump, they will have to change the coolant (it drains out!).
