Air-Bag Light

Postby Liggy » Sat Jan 23, 2010 2:27 pm

My air-bag light was on (after Bells apparently fixing it twice!), so I checked the wiring loom under the passenger seat, since that's what they say the problem is. There was a cable tie around the connection which seemed to be pulling the wires, so I got rid of that, and freed the connections up. It seemed to have worked, but then the airbag light went on again. My solution? Turn the feckin' airbags off! I'd rather a light was on saying Airbags off on the dashboard rather than that stupid airbag service light thing. So, I'm happy with that solution for the time being. Who needs airbags? I have a seat belt, and haven't had a car accident ever (I've been driving 7 years). Bugger it! Lol!

while you might be confident in your own driving... can you really be 100% sure of the other users around you?

when the UK was snowed in, I took all reasonable care driving to/from work etc... but that doesn't stop the idiot behind being quite close when driving on partially iced/snowed roads.
coincidently, a few minutes later on the motorway, a Corsa was doing the same in the fast lane but when he braked, had hit a patch of ice/snow causing his car to drift slightly, but the driver over compensated and smashed into the barrier. Luckily he didn't end up on the inside lanes.

Sure even if I turn the air-bag system off or not, it keeps buggerin' up because of that wiring loom, so I'm not going to get the use out of it anyway! Might as well just be turned off.

Had a problem with mine after adjusting the drivers seat and steeringwheel.

Got my local garage to sort it foc It seems there was a problem with a connection on the steering wheel

So far so good
