Service & Toxic Warning Light - No Rough Running

So there we are, a few 30 sec short journeys and the instrument cluster lights up with the Service & Toxic Warning Light illuminate.
Bugger, im selling the car tomorrow.
A quick ring around, no help from the dealers, cant fit me in to erase the fault. They all want to book me in next week.
A quick look around, i see that argos are selling OBD II readers for £55.99, the RAC items. Great, i can check the code and maybe fix it myself, no rough running of the car, all good. So could rule out plugs / coils. So maybe a sensor in the exhaust.
I plug in the OBD II reader, run a scan. 1 fault found, a code of P0010, i dont really care at this point i want the light off. I restart the car and the lights are off. I turn the car off, and run the test again. No more faults.
OBD II reboxed as not actually opened the packaging, and used it through the plastic
Shall see if they take it back tomorrow, and the big test is if the code comes back tomorrow...
(in my eyes, its never a fault until its a fault that wont clear from the ECU)
