gear stick knob and gator removal

hi there can someone please answer my question the clips on the gear stick gator have broken can the complte gator be removed and changed the car is a scenic11 1.5 dci

just had the exact same problem. You must buy the gaitor and the surround as the one item. You cant just buy the surround as the gaitor is stapled to the surround. I paid £32 (Including vat) from my local renault dealiership for the part. Easy way to remove the gaitor is to use a stanley knife and slit it to remove some of the threading then slide it over the gear knob. You can move the knob but heard its a complete pain in the bahooky.

To fit the gaitor an easy way to cheat is to remove part of the threading (say an inch) of the gaitor and slide it back over the gear knob, reversal of the job you have just done. Get the misses involved at this point in time to sew up the threading you have just loosened then click the surround into place. Total time, including getting the wife to sew will be about 10-15 mins. Its a very easy straight forward job. I know - I done it yesterday !!!!
