knocking noise

when i turn left or right i hear a knocking/ticking noise when i turn the wheel

any ideas what it could be ?

Mez, dunno the exact circumstances you are reporting, but note that one of the plastic switches in the steering wheel boss routinely fails, so when you turn the wheel iside the car you will hear a clicking noise inside the cabin - is this it ?

its really hard to explain .... it only happens when im turning the steering wheel.....regardless if its left or right?
its like a chain sound ??? does this make sense if not ill have to pop to renault

Top shock mount...i got this when i lowered the car turned out that the extra stress bust it.

It can also be felt through the steering. To test this however, have someone in the car stationary...look up under the arch and turn lock to lock and listen for movement and clicking/knocking. If so this could very well be the cause.

I have the same trouble and i have it booked in for an MOT tomorrow.

well turns out it wasnt just the gaitor that had split it was the driveshaft aswellso in total including everything that i neeed for the mot it was well into the 300s..... unlucky 4 me !!!! good luck with your meg tho
