Fuse keeps blowing

Postby nickbell69 » Mon Nov 02, 2009 7:45 pm

I replaced fuse 7B (drivers side back light, front side light and rear number plate lights) it has now gone again.
Any reason for this? Or is it going to be off to an electrician to look at?
Need to know as got pulled by the fuzz!! and now have 2 weeks to sort it.

i'm no expert but i reckon theres a water problem somewhere - i'd do a process of illimination by checking each area the fuse covers, look for any concerns, maybe dry it or check contacts for contamintion. then i'd do a little more investigation work on absolutely anything just to keep me outta the house for a little longer! lol :D

hope that helps and if not at least its a reply!

Check the bulbs are the correct rating (watts).

Then check that the wiring insulation isn't chafed and shorting to the chassis somewhere. Pay particular attention to the bulb mounts. As mentioned, water can damage the holders.

Best advice for Megane owners: sell it before it bankrupts you!
