Wind noise

Postby KIB » Wed Oct 07, 2009 10:02 pm

Has or does anyone have a problem with wind noise from the panaramic sun roof on a 05 megane.
At 70+ you can't hear yourself think in mine. I've been told that i need a new sunroof cassette at 1500quid.
any ideas??

Mine is fine at that speed, there may be a problem with your seals... As far as I know the Mégane uses engine pressure to inflate the rubber seal on closing the sun roof to give a water tight seal.

If there is a problem causing the seal not to inflate this could lead to wind noise and/or a water leak...

I will stand corrected on the above but I’m pretty sure it’s correct.

Mine's a bit noisy, it does tend to lift the faster you go. Only cure I found is to turn vents to re-circulate not draw air in, seems to drop the pressure inside the car and stop it lifting.

Yep, the noise is horrendous and wind starts whistling into the cabin as soon as my speed reaches 70mph. I think I'll need to go back to my dealer as the problems with my car are just mounting.
